Interesting hotel, lots of character. It's not modern by any means but it was cute. The AC in my room was really loud and woke me up every time it kicked on. The place was definitely conveniently located and all the staff and the guys at the valet were great.

History, ghosts, beautiful rooms, honestly I'm too in love with this hotel to be impartial, and I am hard to impress. It's definitely the hotel to choose if you need romance. The restaurant is lovely and food is delicious. The Salt n Whiskey piano bar offers live music (check schedule on website) and excellent drink selection. The patio is perfect for people watching. Valet parking only but it's very worth it due to location. It does have wedding and event space. Very walkable to Opera or other Gaslamp Quarter entertainments. Read up for a bit of San Diego Old West history and ghosts online regardless if you get to stay or not, but I hope you do.

The worst Hotel in San Diego i ever had. It was not possible to sleep because of the loud noise of the bar/restaurant next to my room. When i called the front desk at 11:30 pm there was no answer. After 20 minutes i was able to talk to the guy at the front desk. I told him about the noise. He told me he will talk to his manager at the morning that i can get a discount for the rate. At the check out the next morning the guy told me again he will talk to his manager and send me an email because of the discount. But there was no mail, also after 5 days.

A very charming place at a very reasonable price with great service. Definitely stay there again and again. Highly recommend it.

Beautiful old hotel in the middle of the Gaslamp district. Stayed 2 nights. Nice staff. They upgraded our room to a suite for free. Cozy robes, super fluffy towels. The sheets could use an upgrade - they were a blend (not all cotton)not horrible but not the most comfortable. I was glad I brought my soft blanket.
